Christmas Ornament with Hanging Ornaments

Oct 10
Pro

Create a personalized Christmas ornament featuring miniature hanging ornaments for family members, friends, and pets. Each name appears on its own ornament, suspended inside a frame.

Customize the names, ornament styles, fonts, spacing, and arrangement to create a unique holiday keepsake. Add a holiday greeting, family name, year, or other message to your design.

Getting Started

  1. Enter your names. Add one name per line. Each name creates a separate hanging ornament.

  2. Customize the frame text. Change the Main Text and Secondary Text to display your preferred message.

  3. Choose an ornament style. Select the shape of the miniature ornaments, such as traditional balls or hearts.

  4. Adjust the layout. Change the ornament size, spacing, and stagger to create the arrangement you want.

  5. Customize the frame. Adjust the overall size, fonts, and optional shiplap background.

  6. Preview and export. Check that all ornaments and text fit comfortably within the frame before downloading your cutting files.

Personalization

Names

Enter one name per line to create an individual hanging ornament for each person or pet.

Use a "+" within a name to create a line break on that ornament.

For example:

Emma
Liam
Ava
Noah
Mia+Grace

This creates five hanging ornaments, with "Mia" and "Grace" displayed on separate lines within the final ornament.

You can also add decorative symbols or emoji, such as a paw print, to personalize an ornament for a pet.

Ornament Layout

The template supports automatic and custom row arrangements, making it flexible enough for small or large groups.

Rows

Specify the number of rows used to arrange the ornaments.

Set Rows to 0 to automatically determine the row arrangement.

Per Row

For more control, specify exactly how many ornaments should appear in each row, separated by commas.

For example:

  • 2,3 places two ornaments in the first row and three in the second.

  • 2,2,1 creates three rows with two, two, and one ornament.

  • 1,2,2 creates three rows with one ornament at the top and two in each following row.

  • 1,2,3,1 creates four rows with the specified number of ornaments.

The numbers are read from top to bottom.

Leave this field empty to use the automatic arrangement.

Additional Layout Controls

Row Spacing: Adjust the vertical distance between rows.

Spread Columns: Distribute ornaments across the available width.

Spread Rows: Distribute ornaments across the available height.

Note: Spreading ornaments vertically or using several rows may cause them to overlap the text on the backer. Adjust the spacing, size, or text placement as needed.

Tips for Best Results

  • Start with automatic layout. Leave Per Row empty and use Rows set to 0 for an easy starting point.

  • Experiment with arrangements. Custom row counts can help balance designs with different numbers of names.

  • Watch for overlap. Large ornaments or additional rows may overlap the frame text.

  • Check small details. Verify that narrow connectors, lettering, and hanging holes are suitable for your material and cutting process.

  • Use contrasting finishes. Different colors or wood tones can add depth to the layered design.

  • Test before cutting. Review the final dimensions and toolpaths, especially when using a new ornament shape or font.

Make It Your Own

Although designed with Christmas in mind, the template can also be adapted for other occasions.

Create a family keepsake, celebrate a special milestone, remember a loved one, or make a personalized gift featuring meaningful names and messages.

Experiment with different ornament styles, fonts, and layouts to make each design unique.
