Modular storage system

Sep 9

Create you own modular storage system based on your own stuff size

Have you ever looked for boxes of a specific size to store items with particular dimensions—wanting to organize them neatly and consistently while maintaining flexibility?

Here is a solution based on the "Open Box with Finger Joints" template, but with a few notable adaptations:

  • Define the size of an individual inner box based on your specific item, then choose a multiple (1x2, 3x1, 2x2, etc.).

  • Inner boxes feature an anchoring system to secure them within the outer boxes; they won't get jumbled, even if you tilt a partially empty outer box.

  • Inner boxes can include a customizable notch for labeling the items by name or reference number.

  • Inner boxes can be used in any orientation within the holder box. The mounting holes are evenly spaced.

The finger joints will slot into each other with a tight fit. You may need to use a rubber mallet to tap them in.
