If you are a teacher (or you know a teacher) who wants to use Cuttle in your classroom check out our new [Free Cuttle for K-12 Education plan](https://cuttle.xyz/cuttle-for-k-12-education).

This plan provides **unlimited access** to Cuttle’s powerful web-based editor for all K-12 schools at **no cost**.

Note: this completely unlocks the Cuttle Editor but does _not_ come with Cuttle Pro content and templates — see below for details.

You can apply by simply filling out the short form on [this page](https://cuttle.xyz/cuttle-for-k-12-education). We’ll verify your school’s educational email domain and then all students and teachers who use their school email address will get access to the free K-12 plan.

Students and teachers love Cuttle because:

- It’s a streamlined interface focused _entirely_ on cut design — other programs like Illustrator or Inkscape have extra non-relevant features and complicated setups which can distract from learning
- It’s a web-based app that can be used on Chromebooks
- Cuttle introduces students to parametric design
- Cuttle allows students to explore [coding in JavaScript](https://cuttle.xyz/learn/getting-started-with-scripting) to create more advanced designs and motivate learning programming

Check out some [student projects made by high schoolers using Cuttle](https://cuttle.xyz/blog/design-making-student-final-projects) or this [elementary school lesson plan](https://createmakelearn.blogspot.com/2025/05/lasercut-layered-map-covered-bridge.html) from educator [Lucie deLaBruere](https://createmakelearn.blogspot.com/).

## What’s included and not included

All students and teachers at the school receive:

- Unlimited access to the Cuttle Editor
- Unlimited projects
- Unlimited free downloads
- Unlimited access to all [free templates](https://cuttle.xyz/templates/free)
- All core design tools and features of the Cuttle Editor, including uploading images and fonts

The plan does _not_ include any Cuttle Pro content. Specifically it does not include:

- Pro Templates
- Pro Fonts
- [Noun Project Icon library](https://cuttle.xyz/blog/add-new-icons-to-your-cuttle-designs)

We are omitting Cuttle's Pro content from this plan because:

1. It allows us to offer this 100% free
2. Our intention is for students to use the Cuttle Editor to _design their own creations_

We're excited to partner with teachers to inspire and empower the next generation of inventors!

Please [read more about this plan and apply](https://cuttle.xyz/cuttle-for-k-12-education) if you’re a teacher!

Or forward this email to a teacher who may be interested!

## Video Tutorial: [Make a Hanging Sign with Multiple Names](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXMnPVzKd3Y)

In Federico’s [livestream from last week](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXMnPVzKd3Y), he shows how to create a Hanging Sign with Multiple Names. Inspired by Cuttle Creator **Audrey (@min2bedesigns)’s** [Sardine Family](https://cuttle.xyz/@min2bedesigns/Sardine-Family-r61rCg1xxeew) template, he explores how to create a design that automatically grows as you add more names.

Here’s the [template he created](https://cuttle.xyz/@cuttle/Hanging-Sign-Live-Session-55-EtJ3bXIeJc0R).

You can catch Federico’s streams live on our [Facebook Group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/cuttle) on **Thursdays at 1pm PT / 2pm MT / 3pm CT / 4pm ET**.

## Other Improvements and Fixes 🐞

- Lots of bug fixes for edge cases on **Weld and Score** and **Remove Overlaps**. Previously there would occasionally be erroneous score lines which wouldn’t affect the final design but were confusing. Thank you to [**Bonnie**](https://cuttle.xyz/@cbcodesigns) and others for the bug reports!
- Added new **Add Hole** modifier to Modify > Advanced
- Added `alignment` parameter to the **Outline Stroke** modifier
- Fixed an issue where the Google Sign In button would become blank on some browsers
- On parameters’ … menu, made separate “Extract as Component Parameter” and “Extract as Project Parameter” options
