## Make a Personalized Ornament with Cuttle and WeCreat MakeIt!

### 1\. Personalize in [Cuttle](https://cuttle.xyz/)

- Open the [**Dog Bone Ornament**](https://cuttle.xyz/@cuttle/Dog-Bone-Ornament-cXwOVGL9s9IY) template
- Click **Customize this template**
- Personalize your name and other options
- Click **Download SVG**

This design has 3 different operations that we will assign in **WeCreat MakeIt!**: **Fill Engrave** to engrave the year and the paw, **Line Engrave** to score the lines between letters, and **Cut** to cut the final pieces from our material.

### 2\. Import to WeCreat MakeIt!

- Click on **Import**
- Select the SVG file you downloaded from Cuttle

### 3\. Configure settings

- Go to the Material menu and choose your material
- Open the Layers menu in the lower left corner
- Select **Fill** **Engrave** to engrave, **Line Engrave** to score, and **Cut** to cut
- See WeCreat’s previews for each operation to choose the settings

💡 In general, we want keep the operations in this order — **Engrave > Score > Cut**. To enforce this order in WeCreat MakeIt!, select the **By layer order** mode.

### 4\. Cut both layers

This ornament has **2 layers**.

- Move the layer you don’t want to cut outside the work area
- Print the first layer and move it outside the work area once complete
- Bring the second layer into the work area, swap materials and print the second layer

### 5\. Assemble

- Attach double sided glue behind first layer (Federico uses [**DualTite Adhesive**](https://creativecutsupplies.com/collections/dualtite) **-** use code **CUTTLE10 for 10% off)**
- Remove protective film, align back layer, and gently press to attach
- Tie a loop through the hole with about 12 inches of string

Your ornament is ready to hang ✨

## How to score with WeCreat MakeIt!

[YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdIPN4sy7yM)

WeCreat MakeIt! will place every color from your design as a separate layer.

In the Layers panel in the lower right, find the layer you’d like to score (for example the blue layer). Then make sure this layer’s mode is set to “Line Engrave” and uses a Power/Speed which won’t cut all the way through the material.

💡

In WeCreat MakeIt! Scoring is called **“Line Engrave”**
